Bravo: Top Design Grand Central Subway takeover

Role Direction / Design

From Commuter Commute to Design Destination: I arrived in the pre-dawn hustle in the heart of NYC, not for coffee, but to orchestrate the first-ever NYC subway takeover. Yes, that was me, leading a bold collaboration with Bravo TV to transform Grand Central's platform into a Top Design wonderland. Gone were the well-worn floor tiles and functional steel beams; instead, commuters were greeted by colorful graphics, playful displays, and larger-than-life furniture.

This wasn't just design, it was an immersive experience begging to be shared. In the early days of social media, the buzz went viral, capturing the attention of not just commuters but also Transit Transit news, who interviewed me on-site amidst the creative chaos. The secret sauce? Collaborating with design legend Jonathan Adler, whose whimsical props and set pieces added an extra layer of magic. And let's not forget the powerhouse duo of Adler himself and Bravo President Lauren Zalaznick gracing the event.

Strategic placement of the reconfigured poster art on the stairwell ensured maximum visibility for both ascending and descending commuters, reminding them of the show and its immersive presence. These bustling stairs adorned with playful Top Design elements, greeting commuters with a vibrant splash of color. But this wasn't just a poster; it was a portal, injecting unexpected delight into their daily grind. Smiles, photo ops, and shared surprises – this immersive experience proved design's power to transcend canvases and impact everyday lives.
